Congratulations to all students who achieved Waseley Hills High School's best ever examination results at A Level and GCSE. The 5 A* to C pass rate of 62% including English and Maths is great news for the School and the Community. Year 11 students passed 100% of the vocational courses they studied, many with the new Distinction* award!

AWARD WINNING AUTHOR VISITS WASELEY HILLS

Students at Waseley Hills received a visit on the 6th December from the author Bali Rai famous for his books such as Soccer Squad. He was here to help promote writing and positive thinking from everyone from Year 7 to the Sixth Form. The occasion was informative, entertaining and constructive, with Bali letting students in on his own secrets for writing a good story and motivating them to develop their own creative writing skills.

On Wednesday 23rd November students were given the opportunity to try something different, such as Circus Skills, Assault Courses and Massage Techniques. As you can see a good time was had by all.

STATUS QUO COME TO WASELEY HILLS

Former Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich held a masterclass for Music students at Waseley on the 26th April. Some of the students were given a chance to try out his drum kit and everyone agreed the session was a great experience.

Please note that Parents and Carers can now call the dedicated Waseley Attendance Line (0121 457 4766) when your son or daughter is unable to attend School.  You can call at anytime as there is an answer-phone. 

When calling please leave your name, your son or daughter's name, their Mentor Group, their year and the reason for their absence.  Please let us know of any absence by 9.15am.

On 11/11/11 T/Ws held a sponsored silence raising a total of £153.45 for 'Help for Heroes'
We now have size 32", 34", 36" and 38" sweaters available to purchase from reception for £15.50 each. School ties can also be purchased for £4.00
After speeches from those standing for the position of Head Boy/Girl, the Staff and Sixth Form voted, appointing Zoe Shaw to the role of Head Girl and Stuart Green as Head Boy. Their Deputies are Sophie Banner and Joe Melland.
Well done to everyone who took part in raising money for Comic Relief. Waseley Hills raised the amazing total of £733.00
Waseley has launched a new facility for students that means that they can text confidentially to 07624 813213 if they need help or advice. The number goes to a secure electronic 'Inbox' that will be checked each day by a member of staff here at Waseley.
